Part 2: 6. Give Her an Easy Way to Say No
This is perhaps the most important part of being a good closer.
A confident person doesn’t need to pressure someone into saying yes.
If she says no, accepts reluctantly, or seems uncomfortable, respect the answer.
A simple:
“No worries, it was nice meeting you.”
is enough.
Ironically, giving someone the freedom to say no makes the interaction more comfortable for both people.
The objective isn’t to overcome resistance.
It’s to discover mutual interest.
If the answer is yes, great.
If the answer is no, you’ve received useful information and can move on with your dignity intact.
7. Don’t Turn the Number Into the Prize
Another common mistake is treating getting the number as the ultimate victory.
It’s not.
The number is only a communication channel.
What matters is what happens afterward.
You can get someone’s number and never have a meaningful conversation.
You can exchange numbers and discover that you’re incompatible.
Or you can exchange numbers and eventually go on a fantastic date.
The number itself doesn’t create attraction.
It simply creates an opportunity to continue the connection.
That’s why the quality of the interaction before the ask matters so much.
8. From “Closing” to Connecting
The sales analogy has a limit.
In sales, the objective is to persuade someone to purchase.
In dating, the objective shouldn’t be persuasion.
It should be discovery.
You are both trying to answer the same question:
“Would I like to get to know this person better?”
That changes the entire mindset.
Instead of thinking:
“How do I convince her to give me her number?”
think:
“Are we both enjoying this enough to continue the conversation?”
That’s a much healthier approach.
And ironically, it usually makes you more confident.
You aren’t trying to win.
You’re simply making an invitation.
9. The Three-Step Formula
If you want to simplify the entire process, remember three steps.
Step One: Connect
Start a natural conversation.
Don’t rush.
Be present.
Listen.
Step Two: Discover
Ask questions.
Find common interests.
Share your own experiences.
Look for reciprocity.
Step Three: Close
When the interaction feels positive, make the next step clear.
“I’ve enjoyed talking with you. Can I get your number?”
Then accept the answer.
That’s the entire process.
No secret line.
No manipulation.
No complicated psychology.
